The battlefield wraps around in a circle, a fantastic design which allows not only a level to be very small but also to have the ability to see almost anywhere in it, including upcoming enemies, power-ups and humans to be saved. If you can imagine a more advanced bullet hell Defender from the 80’s, combined with the “diarrhea Christmas lights” of Dead Cells or Final Fantasy 7 Remake. They’ve went on to create other great twin stick arcade style games (including last years roguelike Ret*rnal) but none of them IMO have beaten the sheer style and fun of Resogun.
